TLDR: Tech Ladies Dinner Roundtable

Join a supportive network of women and other underrepresented genders in tech.

The Tech Ladies Dinner Roundtable (TLDR) is a community space for women and underrepresented genders in tech. We are here to meet, share experiences, and grow a support network that lasts a lifetime.

We provide a support network where we can discuss the unique challenges of gender and experience, advocate for one another, and build lasting professional friendships.

Why TLDR?

According to research, 50% of women leave tech by the age of 35. TLDR exists for those of us who are still here. We aren't just networking. We are building a support group to help us navigate the complexities of leadership, technical growth, and workplace culture.

Often, as we progress, we find ourselves increasingly isolated: frequently becoming the "only" woman in the room or on the leadership team. TLDR is meant to change that trajectory. By building these connections now, we ensure that no matter what stage of your career you are in, you have a community of advocates, mentors, and peers to turn to.

How it works

We balance digital connection with real-world community:

  • The WhatsApp Community: Access a private space with dedicated channels for industry news, career advice, and local London meetups. It’s a low-noise, high-value space for peers.
  • The Monthly Dinners: We host regular dinners in London. To keep conversations intimate and meaningful, each roundtable is strictly limited to 6–16 attendees.
  • The Cost: To keep the community sustainable and flexible, each attendee covers the cost of their own meal and drinks at the dinner. We choose central London locations with a variety of options to suit different budgets.
  • The Atmosphere: No pitches, no awkward standing around. Just good food and honest conversation about the things that actually matter in our roles.

Who can join?

We welcome women and underrepresented genders at any experience level. Whether you are just starting your first junior role or you are a seasoned CTO, your perspective is valuable.

The only requirement is that you can make it to London for our dinners!

Join the TLDR Community

To keep the group a safe and high-quality space for everyone, we use a simple application process:

  1. Fill out the signup form with a few details about yourself and your role in tech.
  2. Once your application is approved, we will send you a link to join the WhatsApp group.
  3. RSVP for the next dinner and start building your network.

Quotes from our community

Here are some of the lovely things our community members have said about the dinners:

Nasreen AbdulJaleel:

These dinners and this WhatsApp group have helped me feel less lonely as a woman in tech in London. All the tech leaders on my team report to me, so that’s not really a community that I can discuss topics with freely.

Beyond the act of bringing us together, you have a unique approach to building this community with a light touch while also sharing your passions with us. It encourages us to bring more of ourselves to these events, which enriches the experience for all who attend. I take a lot away from each gathering - discussing real problems openly in a way that helps me think, plus of course having a lovely time at the dinner itself.

Louise Bolden:

I find larger “networking”-style events a bit overwhelming, so any smaller events where it’s easier to talk and share stories, challenges and successes are so much better.

In particular, a community like this of women working in tech provides so much inspiration and encouragement. Everyone I’ve met at a TL;DR dinner has opened my eyes a bit more to what’s possible to achieve in a tech career (so thank you to all of you, too!).

Anonymous:

I feel like I was going a little mad at work... So many issues that felt surreal. Coming to the dinners made me realise that I was normal. Work is just wild.

Secondly, I feel so much less like the only woman in tech. Hearing about everyone else's achievements is so wonderful. New jobs, promotions, it's so wonderful being in a community of women who are thriving.
